OMG I'm NUTS. It's almost 1 in the morning. I've spent the last 3 or 4 hours looking up Japanese summer language programs (found one in Hokkaido that looks good... hopefully for next summer), science internships in Japan (didn't work out too well, most of the programs are for graduate work, ugh, graduate school XD ), science/health internships around MA/CT (might do summer after graduating, or switch around the Japan and the internship, dunno), and figuring out if it's feasible for me to double major in Asian Studies and Chemistry. And actually, it's doable? I am in for 2 years of pain, tho, if I do this.

The only things left for my Asian Studies major are Japanese III both semesters and 2 300 levels to complete the 40 credits. Taking Anthropology of Modern Japan in the fall as an elective in the course and the general requirement for social science. Actually my last general requirement, I think. Roxors.

So. That's 4 Japanese classes. I'll be taking 5 though because Anthro is a 200, bummer. Chemistry is 36 credits, but I need a year of calc and a year of calc-based physics (painful itself I hear). So 52 credits. I have 4 out of the 7 required chem classes, and first semester of calc. Need 3 more required chem, 2 300 levels, 2nd semester calc, and year of physics. I was already planning a year of physics this year, but non-calc based. And taking Drawing, but I can replace that with Orgo III (I'll be taking it with Lucy, so we'll suck, but we'll suck together!) to get one of the 300 levels. Well, writing it all out will take a year and a day, so here's a breakdown.

junior year/fall
Japanese III
Anthro
Physics I
Orgo 3 (counts as 300 level)
Independent Study (counts as 300 level)

junior year/spring
Japanese III
Japanese 300 level
Physics II
Calc II
(MCAT!! DIES)

Japan summer program?

senior year/fall
Japanese IV
Japanese 300 level
308 Chem
Stat (I'm a retard and should've taken this earlier. Oh well.)

senior year/spring
Japanese IV
325 Chem
315 Chem
Sociology

Health internship?

I am such a glutton for punishment. I KNOW I will be so dead after it's all done. That is, if I'll be able to schedule this. Both Japanese classes take up the 1-4 hour block on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which allows me to take physics and orgo, thank goodness.

Jeff will probably hate me 'cos I won't be able to drive over to see him on the weekends. XD A ha ha ha.

It's soooooooo hot. It rained a lot today. But it's still hot. It just made it more humid. Arrrghs! My arms are also sore from working out yesterday. I r weak. So glad I went with my mum to this mini-info session on how to properly use the machines back in Germany. I see random guys in there (probably live around here) and they use it all weird. Or too fast. =( And I'm evil and set everything to 1 because I'm so small, ha ha ha ha ha. Didn't get to do my cardio today, tho. This alum came to visit and she talked with me about stuff she's going to give me for the Sistahs site and then we went to dinner across the street and her boyfriend and her told me lots of stories. And grad school stories observed/heard from other people, since neither of them went to grad school. Because the stories are horrible. XD So Harvard people work all the time, but they're miserable. She had gone to a panel of graduating students and they told all the negative aspects of grad school... at a recruiting event. So that's wonderful. And then how there's an extra layer to add upon work of politics. MIT people work all the time, too, but they're happy. MIT does more applied research than the basic research that Harvard does, and MIT stresses working in teams more than Harvard, which stresses individual accomplishments and being prima donnas. And Yale is still mean to women who are chemists. =( Except two professors... I forgot their names. But they're both minorities who had a tough time getting into the profession, so they're nice to everyone. =D And then stories of Darthmouth (where her boyfriend went) and what happened when they visited each other's campus. He was called "random man" because there weren't many men on campus. And there still aren't, weeeeee. When she visited, all the Darthmouth women would be like, "You aren't a Dartmouth woman," since they all somehow knew everyone and she didn't like that. And she thinks the Dartmouth campus is like a prison. Jeff had applied there, I didn't remember that until he told me today. They ignored him. I'm glad he didn't go there. He has a sort of love/hate relationship with WPI. I think he'll like it a lot more once he gets some projects done.

Anyway, I am very glad of the alum network that MHC has. The CDC is going to hopefully put online a database of alums (even tho they have something like this on their computers? Not sure how it's different), but I don't know if it's all disciplines or just sciences. But pretty much all of the alums are more than happy to network with students.

Argh! I have been trying to download Hundred Stories nonstop for the past three days. It's still at 70%! I have a T1 connection, give it to me in a day! It's rather frustrating as I had about 50% of it downloaded before, but I tend to shut down my computer at night. Because it gets hot. I'd put in more fans, except I can't, 'cos it's a Gateway all in one. But that's okay, I still love my moo-cow. I leave it off as much as I can, but I'm such a computer dependent dork. Oh well. But yeah! So then when I tried to continue the download, it froze at 7% and wouldn't download anymore. *shakes fist*

Also, I am stupid. I've missed some people's entries because they were locked and I wasn't logged in when looking at people's pages. I will take care not to repeat this mistake from now on.

Okay. Now it's 1:30. Time for bed. I will be dead tomorrow.

It is entirely too humid and hot here. I feel so sluggish I don't want to do anything.. the only thing I can do is idly waste my time on the intarweb. I was thinking of making a scrapbook of various San Antonio and Germany things, but I don't have all the photos I know I have. So I can't really start it until I find every darn photo. Which is hard, because we still have boxes all over the house and I don't properly have a room yet. Although we did get the ceiling painted this weekend, so I'll be doing the walls soon. After 20 years, I finally get to paint my room something other than white! =O! So I have this lovely candy apple green picked out. =D

The campus has been invaded! Summer camps are starting. Yeesh. It won't be nice and quiet and peaceful anymore. Oh well. Those kids are suffering in this heat, too, ha ha!

Like, 2 Wednesdays ago 5 of us went to the aquarium in Boston and then whale watching. We were only able to be in the aquarium for a little under an hour 'cos our watching was at 1:30 and we got there at around 12:30. Which was sad. =( Oh well. I'll go there properly for the whole day some time. It also really made me want to buy a better camera. I have my ghetto Fuji that I still heart so much, but it has almost nonexistant zoom and no sound for movies. My other camera has okay zoom? It doesn't scroll zoom, but in blocks, so I find that kind of awkward. Does take sound with movies, although I haven't used it much.. I have no idea why. Seeing as how I got it for that. That said, anyone want to buy it off of me? ^_^() I may sell it on ebay.... So I'm looking at Canon's Powershots, but I'm not quite sure which one is the one I want. I can't seem to find the G6 in stores anywhere? Or I'm not looking in the right place.

Anyway. Yeah! Aquarium. And whale watching. I do not go well with medium-sized boats in 4 foot swells. Didn't throw up, although I did see some people... ugh. Too gross. Poor Catherine got thrown up upon by this one girl working in the bio dept. (Oh yeah, we went separately from the Hughes program people but ended up on the same whale trip) which was also gross. I bought some medicine and felt better, and did see one whale (there were others but I was inside 'cos it was freezing), so it wasn't a total waste. But I would definitely prefer a glass-bottomed boat over whale watching. XD I sooo don't have sea legs.

I feel like a bum. I'm watching Jeff on the webcam and he's doing exercises and stuff (while watching Deep Space Nine, hehe) and I'm sitting here sipping on a Sprite. I didn't go to the gym today because it's freaking 90 with like 60% humidity. If it were cooler or the dorm actually had air conditioning it wouldn't be so bad, but uh, blaaah. I did go to the gym 4 times last week. ;_;

I weigh (almost) 110! Insane. I still remember Catherine's (different Catherine than above) bet that one day I'd reach 110. (I don't even remembered what we wagered? If we wagered at all?) Well... I'm almost there.... but hopefully it's 'cos I'm gaining muscle by going to the gym. XD Yeah, I doubt it. But my legs have been feeling more in shape, yay. Hafta work on my back, tho.

I bought Paper Mario 64 on ebay. I should be getting it soon. But I forgot to look for the N64 at home this weekend. =( So I have to wait until Thursday (Friday off, yay!) to dig it out of its box. It was in the den, but then my parents moved some stuff, so I'll have to ask again where it is. Ahhh.

Krystal, I heart you and hope everything is okay. *hugs*

Shanana, I totally forgot what your dad does. Don't hit me! Also, Zyrtec? You have allergies? =O I can't find anything to help with my (numerous) plant allergies, but claritin/loratidine/zyrtec work for the kitties. I was fine with the kitties before because I was pretty much with them 24/7, but now I only see them once in a while (sadness!!) so I get all watery-eyed and sniffly like my uncle. Only nuts, peanuts, and certain bread foods give me immediate reactions now. Other stuff takes a few minutes, but the effect isn't as bad anymore, I think. Why, God, WHY did you make pistachios and walnuts sooooooo damn tasty! >:O McDonald's Fruit and Walnut Salad makes me crave the whole bag of walnuts, but I only allow myself one. Because more than that my body can't handle.

Nothing else interesting. Booo.

Weeeeee! Yesterday Angie, Alex, Sarah (all peeps who work in the chem research labs, I work with Sarah under Sheila, she's (Sarah) doing NMR stuff as her thesis) and I went to Boston for the Scooper Bowl. =D It was sooo much fun. We tried all 45 flavors, yes! Of course we shared, but there was a teenage guy walking around with a really tall stack of cups! And there was a group of girls singing/dancing... and sometimes singing stuff that they're way too young to be singing. *twitch* Oh well, they did some songs from musicals, so that made me happy. And Sarah, too! She is a huge Broadway fan, hooray!

And then we went shopping. I bought 3 cute undies at the Gap because hey, $2! You can't beat that. And then I bought buttloads of stuff for me and my sis at Bath and Body works 'cos they were having this huuuge sale and I saved $50! Sweet.

I'm playing Okage: Shadow King. I had played it before, but never got past chapter 2 or something? I'm chugging along, and I heart the humor in it. =D

Sarah and I found out today that the people the Hughes program are getting $3,600, and we are now, too, instead of just $3,000! We were like, blink, okay! That's cool. Must resist urge to spend money and save it! I've been pretty good. Yesterday was the only splurge day. All I've really been buying is food, because campus sucks and Blancard's not always open (not that I'd want to eat there every day anyway, yeek, greasy).

I have never really liked the idea of slash. But man if I can't help myself just totally seeing it with Obi-wan/Anakin (or Ewan/Hayden for that matter, a heh?). Their chemistry in Revenge of the Sith was wonderful. All the Padmé/Anakin lovey dovey scenes made me cringe. =( Stupidest love lines EVER, George. So yeah. I've been reading a bunch of slash RPS (what the heck does that stand for? =( I can't figure it out.) lately. A ha ha ha. Some of the stuff is cute. And the icons!!! The icons make me laugh so hard.

Iharthdarth is the freaking funniest, cutest Star Wars comic EVER. Go laugh at its greatness. I'm going to make icons of it sometime. I've seen a couple, but some had weird text.

OH OH. If anyone has/knows where I can get the icon of the Darth Tater that says something to the effect of "Luke, you are my tater tot" I want! I saved it, but somehow only saved the first frame! ;_;

Sooooo. This math group came this week and they're living on the 2nd floor. Sarah got freaked out earlier this week because she went to the bathroom and there was a guy! Gasp. Heheh. Hmmm. I wouldn't mind being on the 2nd floor... it's cooler than the 4th floor. *melts and dies*

Kaaaay, back to my video game. =D

Oh my goodness... the bathroom reeeeeeks of the nasty smelly foot odor! >_> It did not smell like that 2 minutes ago when I was in there.

Campus is definitely weird during the summer. Random people walking about and going to functions that are held on campus. There was a wedding yesterday, too. Didn't get a good look at the bride and groom 'cos they were taking pictures on the green and I was walking to the gym. (Gym! Omg! XD I've been there, uh... twice total. Heh heh. But I'm finally situated and stuff, so it should be easier to go. 1 mile in 13 minutes! Not too bad... 11 minutes was my top in high school. Which isn't great either, but at least I'm not way way slow. Damn those guys who have long legs and can do it in 4 minutes! =O) So also, during work last week, a pack of 5 guys comes into our lab and is like, "We're gonna look at your chairs if you don't mind" and they proceed to look at this one black desk chair that swirls and some comments they make are it's dangerous because it only has four legs (as opposed to 3 or 5?) for when we push each other down the hallway in them. ?? I know it's a joke, but uhhh, okay? And then the promptly left. Sarah and I were just like "... ?" after that.

Oh oh. There's this random guy (we think he's from UMASS or Amherst?) that's working for Sean and Sean used the 400 MHz NMR all last week, but the printer in there doesn't work, so printouts go to the one in the 300 MHz room. Sarah and I were in there and the printer suddenly sprang to life and we're surprised because we didn't print anything, and then the guy comes in and we're like, ooooooh. But man, did he have some strong cologne on. It didn't smell bad.. just very strong.

I borrowed The Tale of Genji from the library. It's effing huge! I knew it was long, but not that long!! It's due on the 28th. Hopefully I'll be done by then? I've only really been reading it during work when there's nothing for us to do. We run NMR experiments, so there's not much to do other than menial clean up/inventory while the experiments run. Well, there's book research....... but there's only so much you can read about NMR before your brain explodes.

I can't find the Gokusen live action special anywhere! -_- I know it's on this one site, but the link is for all 12 eps + special, but seeing as I've already burned and deleted eps 1-10 and don't exactly know where all my cds are... boooo.

It's freaking hot today. High is supposed to be 90. Eeeeee. I only have my little fan and air purifier, but at least they help somewhat. It better rain tomorrow so it'll be cooler.

Oh, I finished watching all three seasons of Jungle wa Itsumo Hale (Hare?) nochi Guu. I've seen a couple of different translations for the title, but I like the one that has it like a weather forecast. Clear with scattered Guu. Hooray! Also, I think I want to cosplay as Guu. It'd just be so much fun.

I want to see Revenge of the Sith again juuuuuuust for all the yummy Anakin/Obi-wan bits. =3

I also want to go to England to see Ewan in Guys and Dolls... but that'll never happen. =( Speaking of England, envy Wayne for touring Germany! I want to go back. Yes, I have issues with almost every person in Europe smoking their life away, but I miss all the museums and trips and fun places to go to. And the autobahn would be way less stressful than the stupid 4-lane highways that always scare me, especially in MA where almost EVERYONE has road rage and it's very scary. Don't learn to drive in MA. It might make you die a little. XD

I think I'll finish X-2, now... finally set up my PS2. XD

Warning, Star Wars spoilers!

Weeeee, watched RotS last night. The place wasn't too crowded and pretty quiet, but everyone did laugh when Yoda walked into Palpatine's place and knocked out the guards with the flick of his wrist. I <3 Obi-wan so much. And Anakin had so much angsty angst, weeeee. The elevator scene. I could NOT help but think all slashy. Ewan makes me go "guuuuh" with his cheeky grin and Hayden is almost carnal. ...... I want to get the novelization. I've read it's got lots of homoerotic moments in it. XD

Gaah, my room is so hot. I try to keep the door open while I'm in here, but the hallway is just slightly cooler and doesn't help. I don't have the lovely option of opening my window for that means Certain Death by Pollen.

Got my first paycheck for the internship! Yay $750! =3

Otherwise.. I really should try to get to bed before midnight....
