Wooo, Dr. Ruth came today to give a talk to us Yale Summer Program students. She's pretty funny for someone who "can't tell jokes." The funny parts I remember at the moment are telling the girls to do Keigel exercises at red stop lights and to wink at the person next to you, penis size doesn't matter unless you're miniscule ("that's another story altogether"), and in answering a question, "no one dies from not having sex for two weeks!" Anyway, I have a little more stuff to talk about, but now I have to go back to the hell that is calculus and study mad hard for the quiz tomorrow. Optimization problems pwn me bad. =(

My sister just told me that Hammie died. ;____; Well, he was old (almost two years) so his time was near. He was just the sweestest hamster, tho. Never bit anyone and loved running around on the sofa... trying to jump off, ha ha. XD

Someone fucking stole my towel from the bathroom! >=O It was there this morning when I brushed my teeth, but now it's GONE. At least I put my name on the tag. They better return it. >:/

Hooray, I called Rachie. XD I will try to call the other SA peeps some time... We definitely need to find one time in the future where we can all hang out. I love you guys!
Anyway, still couldn't figure out those last two problems. =(

Awwww, shoot! I downloaded FMA ep 38 in French. =( Now I have to wait like another day (21 11 hours D= ) for the English version to download. By the way, the manga is also quite entertaining. They're slightly different from each other, but they're both still awesome. And people have such amusing livejournal icons of Ed. =D
Calc homework is a biatch! Well, these last two problems, anyway. I can't figure them out at all. Well, one I just have to stick in the formula to get the tangent line, but seeing as the slope is (2x^3 - 5x) / (2y^3 - 4y) ... yeah, that doesn't look too fun. And showing that two curves are orthogonal? I'm going insane.
Otherwise, I got a GCN/GBA cable the other day and I have my little tropical island. =D My little island villager is this mouse, gah, forgot her name, but she's so cute on the GBA! *^_^* She hates oranges, which happens to be the native fruit of my village which I have in abundance. @_@ I can't figure out which of the other 4 fruits she likes the best. :/ Oh well. I'll just wait until the coconuts grow back. I stole them all to plant on the mainland, har har har!
The only thing that's kinda annoying is that I have 3 or 4 of those girly snobs. Augh! They drive me nuts. T-Bone is suuuuch a dork and he <3's food so I <3 him and hope he never moves. And then there's the robot frog who's got nuthin' in his head. He amuses me.
ALMOST HALFWAY THROUGH CALCULUS. Just two more weeks and 4 days. HOORAY.
I haven't bought my new domain yet. I'm kinda waiting until I can get a card to order stuff online. Which means after my family moves. Which is not now. -_- But I'm so excited for my room (even tho I won't be there 3/4 of the time) because I want to paint the walls a nice light (but still bright, not icky faded/muted) blue, so later I can paint treeeeees and clouds and stuff.

I think I've figured out why I haven't been drawing much at all for the past couple of years. In art class I was always able to come up with creative ideas... but those ideas were based on some sort of criteria or necessary component for the grade. Left to just create on my own... well, I find I don't have much creativity there. Someone else has to put down the general idea or outline, and then I fill it in.
So now I still feel the need to draw, but I can't find what I need to draw. I don't want to draw something just because it will look pretty or whatever, but because it actually says something powerful.
I haven't actually set a time for myself to just sit down and draw. (I just doodle sometimes in my notebook before my calc class starts, but they're just doodles.) I always do something else... watch anime, play video games, or ick, do my calculus homework. Sometime soon.
And I will call Rachel sometime because I said I would. <3

Har har har! I bought Animal Crossing for $26. How I love not paying full price. (Well, I don't have the instruction booklet but who needs those anyway!)
I wanna work at the store I bought it from, but they're looking for store directors and game advisors, neither of which I am. D= Maybe I should work at Blockbuster? If they're accepting applications, and are okay with me leaving in a month. Ha ha.
Off to attempt homework problems I failed at doing on Friday and then office hours of professor. Hopefully this time the building will NOT be locked. =(

Duuuur. So I'm bored. I called Jeff today 'cos I wasn't able to yesterday (and it would've been late for him, so I didn't wanna disturb the rest of the family) and it ended up being like a minute long because yesterday I had stuff to say but when I called him today I couldn't recall any of those thoughts. And he had to leave Sean's place to go home I guess. It sometimes irks me that my memory sucks. I'll have a thought, and if I don't write it down or tell someone about it, poof, it's gone forever. Or I have to do something, and I get distracted, and forget about the first thing.
I wanna go see a movie... Shrek 2 and Spiderman 2 I'm kinda waiting for Jeff to come to the states. I wonder what else is showing that I'd like to see. And I'm also very bored without him.
Bleh, I guess I should start studying calc. Ever since class started I've been asking myself why I torture myself with math. Certain chemistry and biology (and physics, but I haven't taken college level yet) topics are somewhat tortuous to me, but I actually enjoy it? Math... just BLAH.
I feel like I'm "pretty good" at doing a lot of things, but not exceptionally good at doing something that could be a potential career. Because getting a low grade in calculus could potentially stab my pre-med goal. But we'll see. I do wanna be a dermatologist. =( I'm so glad I'm not like this chick that Wayne told me about who has absolutely LOST it trying to keep her 4.0 and is on 4 different pills to keep her sane, and sometimes it doesn't work.

Soooooooooo! Yale is pretty nice... it's relaxing to walk around campus and the stores around here. Calculus is okay... so far. I really hope that after these 5 weeks I won't ever have to do calculus again. I admire those who can do it and how calculus does wonderful things (like make the shape of lipstick) but I'll leave it to those who LIKE it. I feel very stupid in class, but oh well. At least there isn't a participation grade. ^_^() So I went swimming for 20 min today. Yay. Yale's gym is 9 stories tall. O_o I guess 'cos it's in downtown and it can't really be spread out wide. And I am such a retard because I was trying to use this hairdryer there (I haven't touched one in ages) and I wasn't paying attention to how it looked, so I started using it. But no air was coming out and it didn't feel warm. So I was drying my hair for 5-10 more seconds before realizing I was using it backwards. HA HA HA.
There are a few bums around here, asking for money. =( I kinda wish they would make an effort to get a job, but the economy isn't that great... so I dunno.
ANYWAY. Walking around I finally found the Blockbuster (I didn't have my map with me and I thought I was going in the wrong direction but I wasn't so I ended up going around a couple of streets, then went back to my room, realized I was a retard for the 2nd time today, then found Blockbuster. I was sad, tho, because I can't really get a card because I don't have a credit card or voter registration card (YET, I will get one when my family finally moves in August 'cos I need an address for the form to get sent to... and I don't have a permanent one right now) or utility bill to show. But I can still buy stuff, and although they only have Animal Crossing for rent, I bought Starfox Adventures for $7. Yeah, who rocks. The disk makes a squeaky noise while it spins around, but it seems to be working fine otherwise.
And then two stores down I found an Asian market. XD!! So I bought Pocky and some daifuku. The daifuku isn't as good as the ones my sensei gets at MHC for tea ceremony, but still... DAIFUKU. I was sad, tho, that the selection for hard candies/gummies wasn't that great. Oh well.
There's a kitty that's owned by the master or whoever live's in the master's section of the dorm I'm staying at. It's a cute kitty. ^_^ It's an orange and white tabby.
One more thing. One small pane in my window has a stained glass bagpiper that I think is rather... different. XD Reminds me of JR.

Woo! I'm at Yale now for calculus. Calculus for 5 weeks.. OMG I hope I don't die. But at least it's only 5 weeks instead of 9 and it's my only class so I can really concentrate on it, and I have my notes from two years ago and Jeff's notes (I think I can read it, hehe) so it should be all good. And I remember that integrals and differentials are like the opposite of each other. Opposite isn't the right word but whatever. I'm going to bed in like 2 seconds.
